The members of MESHIKAMAU have come a long way from being just a bunch of guys jamming in their native Innu community of Shesahashui , Labrador.
In just six short years, the members Melvin Peneshue, keyboards and vocals, Andrew Peneshue, vocals and guitar, Jerome Pone on bass and Kevin Nuna lead guitar - have started to make a name for themselves.
In the past they have performed at the East Coast Music Awards, The Labrador Winter Games, along with numerous music festivals within
the provinces of Newfoundland and Quebec. The style of music the group performs has been compared to that of Kashtin. All of their pieces are original music written by brothers Andrew and Melvin Peneshue.
While they have been performing mainly in Innu, they have recently started writing in English- for instance on of their latest releases in "Native Canadian Girl".
There is no limit to what this group can accomplish, they have no professional training, just a raw talent which seems to know no boundaries.
